Platzl 9, Munich
A very famous Beerhall and bavarian Restaurant located in the Center of Munich. There is a huge Beerhall with more than 1000 Seats and a Beergarden with old chesnut Trees. Live Blasmusik and bavarian Beer in 1 Liter Glasses.
Very nice place!
This is literally what you think of when you think of a stereotypical beer hall in Germany. Because it literally plays to all the tourist stereotypes, from the way everything is set up to the servers' uniforms and we loved it! Service was friendly, food was so carb-heavy and the beer was amazing. It was so loud with the band playing and people coming in and out. It was utter chaos, but so very Bavarian. However, it may not be for everyone, as service can be very slow and you're literally pushed up against people while eating. But a great experience! Note: Visited prior to COVID; things may have changed.
Very nice location, good food, great beer ?
such a cool experience! checked this one off the bucket list.
Nice ambient, Nice food, Nice bier!!! The Best in the city!
lively ambience and good food
The food is absouloutly amazing! The pretzels semmed perfect! And may y mention the service was the best service I have ever had! There was 3 waiters and they were making our whole family laugh at the table! It was a surreal experience!
The best!
Lovely place in the heart of Munich that definitely encapsulates what Bavaria is all about. It offers an Oktoberfest vibe all year round with live music traditionally Bavarian food and culture and lots of beer. There's only big tables so you'll have to share with strangers, again very Oktoberfest'esque and it's very loud inside. The food and beer is quite pricey, especially considering the quality of the food (not bad, but not the best you've ever had either...). Going there is definitely an experience everyone who's visiting Munich has to make.
3-floor beer hall dating back to The 16th century with a Bavarian restaurant, shows & upbeat vibe is a must to see or visit in Munich. It has really lived up to the hype.
Great place to pass a few hours with great beer and service.
Historical, genuine German place. A lot of companionship and fun to be found here.
Best beer in the world!
Awesome experience, make sure you get a reservation for a larger group. Food was great and of course the beer was excellent.
Amazing place. History and traditions are in the air
One of the best places in Munich. The food is fantastic, and the Dark Radler is a drink unlike any other. There is a lot of history too. It can be confusing so go straight upstairs to the grand hall, take a seat, and soak it all in.
One cannot miss this place if visiting Munich. Assume this place should be very crowded during Octoberfest as I was there right after the week, and it was full of people. This old Baravian brewery dates nback to 15th Century.
perfect place for typical bavarian food.
Friendly staff, amazing food and world class beer! Can’t ask for more
Awesome place for a beer and a sausage
Nice and lively. Good beer and nice food.
My girlfriend and I went to dinner yesterday, the food was very good, as well as the beer. However my girlfriend forgot the scarf on the table, today we went there to ask the employees if they had seen the scarf since we were the last customers to leave the restaurant the night before. The employee was unsympathetic, not very helpful and just said that he didn't see the scarf, nor did he even bother to ask his colleagues, if anyone had seen it or if someone had kept it. Bad service from employees, for a house with so much history, I will not return to this restaurant.
Great beer hall. Loved it.
This place is legendary. If you're in Munich, and you're not at Oktoberfest, then you should be here. It's like a palace! You won't believe the size of this place, and the grandeur. Then you taste the food - which is delicious! And make sure you get a dessert, whoa. Of course the Hofbrau bier speaks for itself. Make sure this is on your list of places to go in Munich.
Not going here is like not visiting Munich. The food is tasty, the service is excellent, we decided to share some of the plates, and the waitress brought us a second plate without even asking her. Food came out quickly from the kitchen and was served at a pleasant temperature. The seating is limited, and you are required to find your seating. This can be a little more difficult during the current COVID crisis as social distancing measures are in place, and only one out of two tables can be used. You may need to look around to find an empty table.
Lively, vibrant atmosphere. Quality beer. Bit on the expensive side but the live music and friendly atmosphere makes up for it. Appeared that 2nd and 3rd floor closed due to Covid Restrictions also.
Went for lunch, it’s a proper traditional beer hall. Typical Bavarian and very touristy but it has to be done. Prices reflect this. Very large indoor seating area with wooden bench style seating. Due to Corona they unfortunately have lost a lot of seating to keep distancing. Such a shame. They had a traditional Bavarian band playing live music. The service was also good. I had the Cordon Bleu which was nice. Could have done with a few more potatoes... My wife had the Rindergulasch (beef stew with dumpling) which she also really enjoyed. Beer was ok and the atmosphere was good. It was busy which is good to see. They take credit cards too.
A slice of old Bavaria in Munich. Lovely decor, plenty of space. Beer is great and so is the service.
It is a very big resto, where you must find sit by yourself, including join other guests, thing that I find not good in times of Covid-19. There is a good capillary service and the beer is sold by maß so be prepared, no smaller, unless you want Weißbier or Alcohol free. The food I got was so so, the carte says piglet, but I got 2 slices of hard smelly pork roast with the sauce that made the crunchy skin like rubber. The pretzels are sold at the table and they are not the one mentioned in the menu at 1,6€, the lady sell them for 3,9€ with no receipt, though, they are very good.
Good food and good service
indeed lovely ! Family is always there.
the very best way to see German beer culture with some local cuisine, not best, but still good ?
Typical brewery with garden in the very heart of the city. In the evenings it gets full, irrespective if workday or weekend. Even though crowded, the atmosphere is very lively. It's a very pleasant experience, but also be prepared to leave some money there if you want to both eat and drink. If you're on a budget, then better eat outside (street food or so) and then go there to enjoy the beer. Just for reference, 1L of beer costs about 9€; a dish some 15 -20€
Usually pretty full. Serves authentic Bavarian food and beer.
Food was delicious here! Had a nice time with my husband, his brother and wife! We sat at the table and made a new friend! Really really enjoyed ourselves! My husband enjoyed the beer ?!
Best place in munich.Very good mood.
Great spare ribs and quite a festive atmosphere, despite the covid situation (didn't break any safety measures or anything, just good music and fun). Liked it.
Good food and service. It was not full though. I would recommend placing reservations
Quick, accurate service on a busy early Octoberfest weekend. Had approximately 1/3 of the tables blocked for social distance. Had the chicken, it was delicious.
Food was ok... Overall I wouldn't recommend this place. It was really hectic and fast paced and the service wasn't great. Seemed more touristy and the food was overpriced. We also had to pay when they brought us our food without getting to eat before. I feel like there are better typical German food places to go to in the city.
Historic old pub with good beer and food.
Great beer, amazing sausages! Sad to see the place half empty, but it’s still great!
Great beer. Good experience. Food was ok.
Happiest place.
Great food and beer. When not crowded, service is also great
The archetypal and best Bavarian beer house. Can't be beaten.
Sadly this place is nothing as before during covid pandemic. Less music, people have to separate on the tables and there is just not the famous Brauhaus athomsphere.there is no one to blame, it's just not cheerfully as before. Great beer and food though.
Excellent food, well recommended :)
One of the must to see in Munich. Beer was fresh and tasty. Very organized place but it was sad to see it empty with less people. Nice Bavarian live music. Polite staff.
Amazing place for ? lovers
